Fact Sheet · Fly-Tying Courses

Fishing Courses · Pyrenees

Fly-fishing courses. You put it together, and don't let them pass by.

The fly is the key to this type of fishing: it’s the only thing the fish sees. These courses teach the secrets of fly tying—materials, proportions, and patterns that really work—and how to tie it to the leader so that fish don’t swim right past it.

  • Indoors or along the riverbank
  • From scratch
  • Individual or group

Price

To be determined

The price is determined based on the course duration, the number of participants, and the location: in a classroom or by the river. Just send Johnny a message, and the deal is set.

What You'll Learn

01

Assembly tools

How to attach the hook, how to use the reel winder, and what each tool on the tying table is used for.

02

Materials and Why They Work

Feathers, hair, dubbing, threads, and weights: which materials provide buoyancy, which provide movement, and when to use each one.

03

Fishing boat captains

We tie nymphs, dry flies, and wet flies that are actually found in the rivers of the Pyrenees—not the ones in the catalog.

04

Imitate what's in the river

You learn to observe the water, identify the hatches, and tie the appropriate fly.

05

Knots That Never Fail

How to tie the fly to the leader so it holds up during the set and presents well: the fish won't get lost in the knot.

06

Leaders and Tackle Sets

Construction of the leader, diameters, and rigging of two flies to cover more water with a single cast.
